Michael Mellor 3D Character Artist and Animator | Borrego Springs, CA

Specializing in character design, advanced rigging, and environment art.

My passion is creating compelling, hope-filled experiences through beautiful animation. My faith in Christ inspires this vision and the work I create.


My work spans stylized 3D animated short films, freelance animation, and interactive experiences like David’s 4D VR Adventure. Most recently, I started ShatterChron Interactive, where I’m developing a story-driven game focused on beautiful environments, compelling narratives, and cinematic appeal. As the project progresses, I’m creating asset bundles and tools designed to help other creators bring their visions to life. The first release is a comprehensive modular character head system with facial motion capture for Unreal Engine.


Most Used Software:

Blender, Unreal Engine, Affinity Photo, DaVinci Resolve, and other animation, sculpting, and design programs across Mac and Windows.

Work Experience Prior to Freelance:

Sight and Sound Theatres in Lancaster, PA – responsible for programming and operation of CNC mills and lasers, 3D printers, and other fabrication machines. Some prop making and post processing.

 

Rollem Films:

It’s my families last name backwards, Mellor. Growing up my siblings and I made lots of shorts and fan-films and our Dad had the idea for the name Rollem Films. Hopefully one day we can get the gang back tother!
